Do You Know These Birds?

We eagerly await their arrival, checking the yard, the birdbath, and the feeders for the first sign of these returning travelers.  Some make a short journey from the southern US while others travel from the tropics of South America.  They stay for a few brief months to breed and raise their young before returning to their wintering grounds.  They are migratory birds - we welcome them to our yards every spring and enjoy their company all summer.

Below are some of the migratory birds that may pass through our yards.  Click on a bird below to learn more about the bird, including recordings of their songs and calls.  For some of the winter birds that continue passing through our area during April and early May on their way to northern breeding grounds, Click Here.
