What is the difference between antimicrobial and antibacterial?
An antibacterial agent is only effective against damaging bacteria whereas an antimicrobial agent is effective against damaging bacteria, mold, mildew, yeast, and fungi.
Why silver?
Agion uses a patented technology based on silver ions. Silver is a naturally occurring element that has been proven safe and effective in fighting a wide range of microbes and is environmentally friendly. Some antimicrobial products use unsafe synthetic chemicals or volatile organic substances, but these can be potentially toxic and dangerous at inappropriate levels. No such dangers are known to exist for silver.
Will antimicrobial product protection keep mold from developing in my feeder?
The maximum benefits of the antimicrobial product protection come from the surface of the treated components. It is still important to keep your bird food fresh and dry.
How should I clean my EcoClean feeder?
We recommend regularly cleaning EcoClean feeders with warm soapy water to remove normal grime and droppings. It is not necessary to use a bleach solution to clean EcoClean feeders.
